We are happy to announce that we will be following the format of the BZDC, which has a structured way of running the jack and Jill. TIMING AND MUSICALITY
Brazilian Zouk encompasses all different styles of Zouk.
Apart from LambaZouk all other styles such as Traditional Zouk and Neo Zouk have the timing defined as “Slow-Quick-Quick” where in a full 8 counts the “Slow” step must be on the odd numbers. In LambaZouk the timing is still defined as “Quick-Quick-Slow” but in a full 8 counts the “Slow” step must be on the even numbers. In Brazilian Zouk it is accepted that your slow step may be on any odd number in a full 8 count phrase. For all Brazilian Zouk Jack & Jill competitions timing has been defined as “Slow-Quick-Quick” where in a full 8 counts the “Slow” step must be on the odd numbers.
