TIMING AND MUSICALITY

Brazilian Zouk encompasses all different styles of Zouk.

Apart from LambaZouk all other styles such as Traditional Zouk and Neo Zouk have the timing defined as
“Slow-Quick-Quick” where in a full 8 counts the “Slow” step must be on the odd numbers. In LambaZouk the timing is still defined as
“Quick-Quick-Slow” but in a full 8 counts the “Slow” step must be on the even numbers. In Brazilian Zouk it is accepted that your slow step may be on any odd number in a full 8 count phrase.  For all Brazilian Zouk Jack & Jill competitions timing has been defined as “Slow-Quick-Quick” where in a full 8 counts the “Slow” step must be on the odd numbers.
